Installation and Setup
Install
- Download the appropriate file for your OS
- Expand the downloaded file to a local folder or personal folder on a network share e.g. EAFTester
- Do not install EAF Tester in a common folder where multiple users can run the application! Each user should run their own copy!
- Administrator or elevated privileges are not required to install or run EAF Tester
Add User
- Your system user name must be added to EAF Tester before you can Test
- e.g. in Windows, in a Command Prompt, type SET <enter> and your user name is the value of USERNAME
- Double click EAFTester.exe to launch the application (EAFTester.exe can be found in "your-install-folder\EAF Tester\EAF Tester.exe" where your-install-folder is the folder you expanded (unzipped) the downloaded EAF software)
- Click Manage...Globals...Tester
- Add user - click here for details
Verify Install
- Double click EAFTester.exe to launch the application (EAFTester.exe can be found in "your-install-folder\EAF Tester\EAF Tester.exe" where your-install-folder is the folder you expanded (unzipped) the downloaded EAF software)
- EAF Tester includes a SQLite database that contains a Test Case that can be executed to verify the install
- Depending on the browser or browsers that you have, run the appropriate test.
- Installation Test
- Click Run...Execute
- Select / Expand Systems
- Click "Google Search"
- Under Versions, click Version 1
- Under Test Plans, click "Google Search Demo"
- From the top menu bar, click File...Execute
- In a few seconds, EAF Tester should start the Test. You should see a browser open, navigate to Google News and close
